I found a used (blue) 09 EG Ultra Tour Pak on Craigslist. Got it with the speakers and backrest included for $650! Got it painted last week, and attached it with the HD 4-point quick release. What ya'll think? First pic, it was still blue with stripes, pics 2 & 3 after paint. Now if I could just get the ol' lady to get off her new Fatboy Lo and test out the back seat!!!

....... i like the look of a Tour Pak on the Road Glide.............. way to go, looks great !
...... did you need a new harness to connect the speaker ? Dealer flash for the head unit ?
....... gonna set up the TP lights for turn signals too ? ....... that sure helps in traffic.

Local shop painted it for $175. Only found one speck of dust in the paint job, but they're gonna fix it for free. Got the lights hooked up but not turn signals or speakers yet. Putting off pulling the outer fairing again, as long as possible! A buddy put the new Air Wing luggage rack on his Ultra Limited and gave me his stock one. Can't beat more chrome on black!

Looks real good.

I took an old Tour Pak from the top of the Garage. Repainted it. I got a Quick Disconnect off eBay. I paid Discount for the Ultra Light bar from Zanotti. A month after I got it, Harley came out with the LED one. Drag city. I took the speaker housings from a wreak and reupholstered it. I took the stock speakers from the front when I replaced them with the 7.25 J&M speakers. Antennas are inside the Fairing.
I painted the Tour Pak myself. Cost about $350 total.

Sounds like a great deal! Lookin' good ...

Did you get the barrel lock key with it or did you have it re-keyed to match your bike's key? Will Harley do that or can it be done by any locksmith?

When you buy a new tour pack from HD, it appears they don't come with the locks but I can't find a part number in the catalog (just says "sold separately"). Anyone know?

Still trying to make up my mind about an FLTRX or an FLTRU but if I go with the Custom, I'll be getting a tour pack eventually and I'd like it to be keyed to the bike's ignition. What's the best way to do that?

So far, I have less than $1100 in it. The Harley shop took my key # and ordered a matched barrel lock for about $12. It came with 2 more keys.

That's awesome, especially for a new matched lock and two keys. Figured it'd be like $50 or something. Thanks for the info.

You're gonna like the extra room when you need it. When you don't need it, you can just take it off for that low, mean look. It looks very good and an added plus is it's the Ultra version; those lights and speakers are pricey to add on!!

Got the lights hooked up, but I gotta wait for some cash to get the speaker harness and the turn signal module. I'm NOT looking forward to pulling the outer fairing and tank. Did the fairing once to install the apes & internally wire them. That was a pain!

I just picked up a TourPak on ebay for $650 off an 05 Ultra Classic. It was delivered today and I'm hoping to get it painted next week. Why do you have to remove the fairing? Is the light/speaker harness not already installed behind the left rear side cover?

No, it is not, except for the Ultra Model (that comes with it already).

You have the speakers already so you will need the Rear Speaker Harness (77157-06). This is not a "Kit". It is a Harley Part. I found one on ebay for $15.00.
If you just want to add just the rear speakers, you can just look at the wiring diagram and use the wires from the Speaker Harness into the plug on the back of the radio and not use the switches. You will still need the download from Harley to activate the Fader Control. It should be at No Cost because Harley does not charge the dealer for it.

If you want to just have a Plug-N-Play set up, you will need to purchase the Non-Ultra Harness (70169-06). You need this no mater how you go with the Tour Pak. (Except as stated before)
If you intend to Permanently mount the Tour Pak to your bike, use the Boom Music and intercom Kit-Tour Pak Models (76440-06) and Communications Switch Kit (77173-08).

If you want to have the detachable Tour Pak you need the Boom Music and intercom Kit (77108-09A). This will give you the ability to use the Intercom, with or without the Tour Pak.

No mater how you go, you will need to decide what or how you will mount the antenna. You can just use the Antenna Relocation Kit (76561-09). or as I did, mount it inside the Fairing. This makes one (or two with a CB) less wire to worry about when you remove the Tour Pak.

No matter how you go, good luck and have fun.
