I'm wondering? I have the Original Stock Harley Chrome Spoke Rims on my '09 Road Glide. They were an option, instead of the cast rims for the '09 model year.

When new, the tire was Tubeless. When I had the tire replaced the first time, the dealer said I required a tube and would not install it without the tube. Now every time I replace the tire, I am required to use a tube.

Now these are the Machined (Doomed) Chrome Spoke rims. Not the pressed steel chrome rims. The books all say they are for "Tubeless Tires".

Anyone else had this problem??

Couple of thoughts. That dealer has had previous issues with that style of rim leaking? Possible that with age and use the rim looses it's seal around the spokes? Take the rim to an indy that will mount the rim tubeless and check it in a water tub for leaks.

There's no harm in having tube in em, use over and over, tire gonna say tubeless, if yours are as suspect you can still run sealant to get you outta a spot, plus I'd rather patch a tube replace a good tire

Are you having a problem with the tubes? Lots of shops, especially those with older techs aren't comfortable mounting spokes without tubes. Especially after a second or more tire change.

No problems. I'm just tired of paying for tubes for tubeless rims.

Most of them say the seal won't hold up after a change or two. They tend to leak. This seems to be true of DNA Mammoth and Ride Wright Fat Daddy Spokes as well.

No problems. I'm just tired of paying for tubes for tubeless rims.

Someone's getting your tubes then. Have re-used them multiple x's for many years. Maybe no knowhow to mount or dismount tubes without pinching or goushing. Seems most wouldn't take the time to even clean the inner rim edges for good seal on mags....
