Got the numbers from the dyno tune with the street tuner. Bike has VandH powerduals extreme ventilator air intake and street cannons mufflers. 81HP 92ftlbs. Sounds pretty pathetic to me. Maybe I am used to having a bike that makes big HP. This is my first Harley. Are those numbers ok or is the tuner holding it back or something else? I have not rode the bike yet to see how it feels. Will pick it up tomorrow. The bike I traded in was 136hp 140hp. Of course it had tons of motor work done. Stage one the bike dynoed at 95hp 114ftlbs.

Better turners are getting stronger numbers.

The new HD Turner is holding you back, JMHO.

Steve Cole using TTS Turner was able to get 79HP & 99 TQ in stock from. Pretty much same results as Jamie at FM.

With a Stage II Torque cam results were 97 HP & 107 TQ.

With a Stage II Power cam results were 102 HP 109 TQ.

IF you decide to go to the 114" Stage III Kit, 114 HP & 120 TQ is what he was able to get it of the box using a TTS Turner.
BONUS: By upgrading to a 114" Stage III Kit via 107" motor, you get higher comp rate of 11.4-11.5 (IIRC) vs the CVO comp rate of 10.4-10.5. (Again IIRC)

Congrats on your new Rig!

My old '16 103 with somewhat the same except with the SEPT put out 86 and 110 so HP wise you are not far off but the custom tuning of the SEPT is what your trq is missing - I would not focus on #s as much as I would the chart and pull line - Also, if your bike has less that 2500 miles on it, IMHO, it is still breaking in - Other tuners will be out soon and you can get it re-done if you want to get better #s.......its just an odd time in the industry right now

The bike has 3600 miles on it. I really can not pass judgment till i ride it. Really it is not about the paper it is about the feel. The bike pulled good solo with just the SE cans on it. Me and the wife rode up to the rally in Milwaukee and loaded down with gear and a passenger she kinda struggled a bit. Also it was 90 degrees on the way home and my right leg was cooking.

You need a better tuner and head pipe. The V&H power duals do not make power. I know, went through 4 exhaust systems before getting it right.

Here is my problem with all this EPA deal,I bought a 17 RG run fair stock well i put on a set of slip ons and a screaming eagle air cleaner bike ran real good.Got worried about warranty got the street tuner put the stage one download in. bike ran like crap could smell it was to rich.If the EPA is against tuners how come so rich more emissions right.Had the factory tune put back in runs a little hot but runs real good.So i spent 300.00 for nothing.Just a money racket like everything else.

Take it to the dealer and tell them the Map is not taking - I am sure new Maps come out all the time - Don't settle until you are happy with how it runs

I was under the impression that the 16's were grandfathered in so to speak. I bought my 16 rgs before all this bull started and they told me I was good to go as far as warranty went with the pro tuner and d/d fat cat 2 into 1 pipes

My understanding is they are grandfathered in if sold before the drop dead date ( Aug 23) any bike sold after that a 16 or 17 must comply with the EPA. I am sure I I am wrong someone will correct me.

The EPA Consent Decree ONLY affects 2017 or newer. It does NOT affect a 2016 or back. Date of purchase doesn't matter.

OP: If your dealer said using an aftermarket tuner would void your warranty they're twisting the truth. That ONLY applies to 2017 or newer.

My '15 with just an air cleaner, V&H Pro Pipe, and a cam, is making 103 bhp and 108 ft-lbs tq.

The problem with the Pro Street Tuner module is that it will only download EPA/CARB compliant maps. That's what's hurting you. And, duals won't make the power that a good 2-1 will make, but I fully understand not every rider likes the look. You didn't mention a cam, so I assume you're running the stock cam. Your numbers are a little better than stock.

My tuner recommends Power Vision. He'll happily work with my SEPST, but Power Vision is his first choice. That's what he's using on his 200 mph bagger, and his 245 mph 143" Dyna with an Aerocharger on it. He's a beast! :D

So anyone who bought a 2017 will just have to ride it with Harley parts until the 2 year warranty is up. When the warranty runs out it will be game on! Then you will see tons of people changing A/C, full exhaust without the Cat, Cam, and Ported Heads. Then we will see the real numbers this new engine is capable of. Also by the time the 2 year warranty is up all of the major manufacturers will have a good selection of performance goodies out. Now we just have wait out the 2 years!
Has anyone put the 114" kit on? How much did it cost for the kit and labor? Any issues with the kit?
