I recently purchased a 1998 RG that had a needle from a cam bearing seize up the oil pump. It broke gears and cracked the shaft. I purchased an Ultima oil pump, and had a local shop put it on for me. I finished the rest at home. Problem is I have no oil pressure. I’ve checked the lines. All appear to be hooked up correctly. I’ve pulled the two caps on top of the pump, and there doesn’t appear to be any oil getting in. I pulled the feed line, and there’s oil flowing from it. The lifter screen galley will not fill. I filled it by hand, and still no pressure. I haven’t put a gauge on it, but I cranked it the first time, and had top end rattle bad. The light would not go out, so I immediately shut it down. I’m stumped at this point. I really don’t want to take it back to this guy if I don’t have to, as he’s about 60 miles away. I feel like it’s something simple, but DANG!!! I don’t know where to go from here! Thanks y’all! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
