2011 RGU with 18,000 miles. I use to use Mobil V Twin Syn 20w-50 in my engine and noticed a slight "pinging" noise from the engine when it was 85+ degrees out and I was running 80mph at 3100rpm for extending periods of time (400-600 mile days) I changed the engine oil to Redline 20w-60 and NO MORE pinging! I'm currently on my cross country trip and am very pleased that the pinging is gone!!

been using the 20-60 year round for several years now , good stuff with great used oil analysis .

I use Mobil 1 20w50 V-Twin oil in my 08 since it was new and never had a problem.
The ping is probably the tune in your bike not the oil.

20-60 is probably the better choice if your running in + 90 degrees but think the 20-50 is better all-year oil.
As Mark said, been using Mobile 1 20-50 mc oil since about new and never had or heard any noise or problems.
