I would like to change from my stock RG Ultra Rear Fender to a Tri Bar Street Glide Fender. has anyone done this? The standard Tail Light is not on the Streetglide Fender so I'm wondering if there will be problems with the plug under the seat matching up or if a new loom can be ordered. Both are 2012.

You can add the tri bar facia to your 2012. I did it and so has several others on here. Much easier than replacing the fender unless your trying to get rid of the big taillight. Search the threads for rear facia install. There are a few with part numbers and instructions. Good luck!

Yes I do want to get rid of the Tail Light. Just trying to figure out the if I will have a connection problem for the lights. The Fender replacement is not a big deal

You can get a new harness with the lights you want. And if you want a vivid black tri-bar light fascia that you can paint whatever color you like, I just happen to have one I pulled off my original 13 fltrx fender that I gave to a friend. I'll make you a great deal if you promise in the future to call it a roadglide custom fender...not a streetglide fender.

After the first of the year I'll have the stock fender off a roadglide special to go with MightyWhitey's tribar. It has the bullet style taillights instead of the big tail light. If you want to go that way.

Getting rid of the rear taillight may make the rear of the bike look better but it also decreases the visibility of the rear of the bike to other motorist . As a safety stand point the more lights in the rear of the bike the better. JMO

I was never a fan of the HD fender tailight. However, I didn't think it looked too bad on my '09 with a razor tour pak. I ended up converting the bike to CD lights. The tailight got a smoked laydown lens. It looked pretty good, and I'm a big fan of plenty of lights. Getting crushed from behind while looking stylish is not my idea of fun.

+1 I like it now. With the CD magic strobe everything flashes together. Added a Kuryaken laydown plate above the taillight to get rid of the billboard. Came out nice, just have to drill three holes.

The fenders are the same with the exception of the gaping hole where the big brake light mounted to it. And of course the color. My 09 had the big brake light but I added the tri bar fascia about 6 mon ths after I bought the bike. I've since changed to CVO fascia and eliminated the big brake light. This is still my stock fender with that big gaping hole but the Yaffe stealth 3 plate bracket bolts directly to the existing holes for that big brake light. As far as the harness is concerned, it may have the same plug but you'll more than likely have to re-pin it to make the bullet brake/run/turn lights work. I had to re-pin my connector to get the CVO lights to work
