Hey guys. Not sure if this is the right forum for this or not so feel free to move it if goes somewhere else.

I have an '01 screamin' eagle road glide that we want to tip the front fairing closer to the angle of the newer ones. I think they tipped it down in like '05 and then again in '09... something like that? What parts would I need to do this? How far can I tip it and still use my lowers? Any help or advice is appreciated!

Thanks .

Drag Specialties is making a new RG fairing bracket that is adjustable. My rep brought it in and showed it to us. It should be out in the new year. If memory serves correct I think he said about $200 or so.

If you do a search for 2010 Fairing brackets, you will find several threads regarding the change of the fairing.
It actually tips the back of the fairing up, and (i think) nose down slightly.
You will need to replace the inner fairing frame mount, and the 2 crash bar side supports. It should work with your stock SE lowers.
One of the reasons they made the change in 2010 was so the vented lowers from the ElectraGlide would fit without touching the fairing, as pre- 2010, you could only use the non vented lowers on a 2009 and earlier Roadglide.

Here the part numbers:
58530-10 Bracket, Fairing Mount
58454-10 Left Support, Lower Fairing
58460-10 Right Support, Lower Fairing

Thanks guys! I'll do some searching for the '10 fairing brackets. I didn't know what to search and my original search pulled up nothing.

DED HD, You think the '01 lowers will fit? Didn't they change how the lowers mounted to the crashbar or something like that around '09? Or maybe it was the rubbing issue you're talking about and the '10 bracket fixed that?

Eitherway, huge help! We're trying to breath some life in to the '01 so she doesn't look so dated.

Im not sure if the mounting of the lowers changed. to my knowledge, only the mounts of the fairing changed.
What color is your '01? ive always loved that bike!

Heres something to think about before you do it: If you change the angle of the fairing, the Screamin' Eagle painted on the fairing wont line up right with the tank paint.

If you just want to give it an upgraded look: 1.ditch the bubble on the front headlights to the new style, 2.lower the front end, 3. extend the saddlebags and rear fender and factory match the paint job, 4. change the windshield, 5. new wheels ( maybe a 21") to name a few

Its the black and grey. Yeah, I thought about the paint lining up. :( I was trying to determine if it would be off enough to tell. Hmmm...

I was trying to find a picture to post but I don't have anything on my work computer.

And that is kinda why I was trying to find the first mount that only tipped it a couple of degrees. But maybe that mount is the reason the lowers wouldn't work.

It's just hard because I've had her since knew and she is just looking really dated. Just trying to freshen her up without losing the original style and look.

Not doing it soon but debated doing a dropped fender and stretched bags... bad idea?

If your changing the brackets on the faring and are worried about the paint not lining up, lift the tank as well.

I'm with DED HD on this, you might want to put on 1" lower shocks first.
'Not sure how much visual change you would get by installing the newer brackets, and changing the main bracket is quite labor intensive (on the new frames) don't know if the newer brackets are bolt up? you might go aftermarket, but again, I don't think you will get much bang for $...

LH lower mount: 58454-10
RH lower mount: 58460-10
Frame mounting bracket: 58530-10

You will reuse the inner bracket (aka, radio caddy) and the clamp caps for the lower brackets.
That's all you need. Done it twice. $191.25. Less if purchased from a discount dealer like Surdyke. (No add intended). FYI: both bikes I did this to were 06's. I don't think there was a design change between 01-06.
