What did you do to your Road Glide Today?

I've seen these threads on other forums, and they can go on forever. Just some place to post what you might have done in any particular day.

I'll start with this past weekend. I went out Sunday morning intending to ride down the road, any road. When the first 40mph gust of wind hit me, I changed my mind and headed over to Iron Pony instead. It being early Sunday, and the service dept was open, I decided to get the new tires I was needing. So, a few dollars later I ended up with two new Dunlop American Elites and new pads on the front brakes. They were out of the Metzler ME880's, but these are new model Dunlops, and it appears they only make two sizes so far, both just happen to fit my bike. Web site says more sizes coming in 2011. Only have about 300 miles on them, but so far they seem to be good tires. Holds the wind well :D (Sunday was VERY windy, almost got blown over getting off the bike)

Next up, Progressive 940's are on the way.

Rallied thee ol slut down the Nevada back roads today. Might be one of, if not the last ride of the season. Some weather moving in this week and gotta start shipping tins out for paint!

But today, actually, the face plate on my radio had some sun damaged (original owner must've let this bike sit outside regularly). So took the radio apart and painted the face plate and added new screen protector to the actual screen 💪:

Kind of some crap that Harley doesn't offer the face plates, rubber buttons, actual screen for sale on their own.

Cleaned up the new paint and scrubbed the residual polishing compound out of the nooks and crannies. 👌

Chalk another one up for the zippers axle adjusters. I was kind of hesitant because I liked the design of the Krause/MJK better where it tied into the lower shock bolt, but that wasn't an option. So went with the zippers and they fit up and secured just prime. Shouldn't have any trouble whatsoever next season.

Also did some polishing on the new exhaust, might not be rideable yet but damnit she's gonna look good sitting in the garage at least!

It's a flash on the ECU that converts the standard m8 ignition into the CVO ignition. Not sure if it will work with 14-16 Rushmore models. Just flip the ignition switch to start and press the starter. To turn the bike off, just kill the ignition. No more fiddling with the center ignition knob.

Works on 14-16 as well. Not sure on the simplified switch to retain fork lock capability, I think most just remove the switch altogether, but you obviously wont be able to lock the fork if its removed.
Just looked on the microfiche, the CVO ignition switch on the dash looks similar to the non CVO, and its labeled as 'fork lock' on the parts list. So I guess there is a pseudo option for retaining fork lock capability. But like I said, I think the reason most do it (including me) is just to remove that switch altogether. So kind of defeats to purpose to put the CVO fork lock on in my opinion.

My thoughts as well…. I’d likely just remove the switch altogether and figure out a cover or something in its place…. It’d be cool if it were just a simple plate with a barrel lock in the middle to lock the forks when needed…..
Kraus makes just that, but for their top triple clamp of course....

Edit: Was just looking, that Kraus lock has to be damn close to fitting the OEM top clamp if it doesn't. Anyone know?

So to revisit this. The Kraus lock does not fit. But a little massaging of the OE top clamp, slight trim to the lock itself, fab up a little adapter plate, and bingo. Bolt it all together and works like a dream, looks good too!
