What did you do to your Road Glide Today?

I've seen these threads on other forums, and they can go on forever. Just some place to post what you might have done in any particular day.

I'll start with this past weekend. I went out Sunday morning intending to ride down the road, any road. When the first 40mph gust of wind hit me, I changed my mind and headed over to Iron Pony instead. It being early Sunday, and the service dept was open, I decided to get the new tires I was needing. So, a few dollars later I ended up with two new Dunlop American Elites and new pads on the front brakes. They were out of the Metzler ME880's, but these are new model Dunlops, and it appears they only make two sizes so far, both just happen to fit my bike. Web site says more sizes coming in 2011. Only have about 300 miles on them, but so far they seem to be good tires. Holds the wind well :D (Sunday was VERY windy, almost got blown over getting off the bike)

Next up, Progressive 940's are on the way.

Talbot Run Rd. just outside of Unionville, MD. Nice little winding road I discovered about a year ago.
Still can't place it. But I do ride Woodville road out of Unionville a few times a year, so I might have wondered through some time or another.

That run from Boyds to here in PA can be a real chore from about 2pm till after dinner time on a Friday. So I had a string of back roads all just a little west of 27 that I could use to turn it into a nice ride. Clarksburg roads, skirt west of Mt Airy, then up to Unionville and New Windsor. Then skirt west of Westminster and grab 496 above the airpark. It was kind of the long way around, but once I got past 355, I was done with sitting in traffic.

Well, I started last year and dicked it up on the first day with the tumblers on the main switch. After a couple months for working with them, I loaded it and took it to Harley.

this year..
Moto lights. Brushed aluminum LED amber.
Accessory switch pack.
Engine guard.
Bars.
Heated grips...

today. Stuck on heated grips.

cheers

You know exactly where I rode today. That picture was taken 30 yards from where Talbot Run intersects Woodville. I went up Talbot Run to Buffalo, to Sam's Creek, then up further to where I got the crap gas, then up through Eldersburg to Smithsville, then cut over through Sharpsburg to Harper's Ferry, then home.

does the cvo fender for the rushmore bikes fit differently than the stock fenders? like the cvo fender for the pre rushmore bikes did?

Not from what I know. Direct bolt in. Just no antenna hole.

Took the Mf’n day off! It’s beautiful here in the ATL. Bout to head out to HD Atlanta for the 1k service and then going to spend the afternoon riding in the warm sun.

argh..... shows my dumbassery there. I was assuming front fender, not rear. I was focusing on how the pre rushmore cvo front fender woud sit 3/4'' lower than the standard front fender and was wondering about that on the newer bikes. I hadn't heard one way or the other.

Well. That fact the new ones run a 21" wheel and the Standard and Special run 19" wheels. I'd assume it will sit too high for a 19.
If I'm understanding you correctly.

I have the Russ Wernemont Designs wrapped fender on the front of mine.

that fender looks good, kind of a mix between the classic styling and new.

I was thinking more of the cvo fender from off of the street glide that had the 19'' front as opposed to the 21'' of the road glide (sometimes I forget that we're pretty roadglide centric here). we replaced the stock front fender off of my wife's 2012 with a primed fender off of the cvo roadglide and had joe z paint it. the match came out perfect, and with it sitting closer to the tire, it looked great. it was such a subtle difference that you couldn't immediately pick it out, but you could tell there was something different about it.

just answered my own question. looked up the primed fender part number from the 2020 cvo street glide, and it is the same as the primed fender on my 2019. so, no cool factory fender available, have to go aftermarket.

Man, great day to ride... HD Atlanta was a great shop for my 1k service - highly recommend. Stayed with conventional oil for this change and will do some more research on options for the next oil change.

Got some good miles in and was even able to use some Harley bucks to pick up a new pair of boots. Great Friday.

Look at the Russ Weirnamont Fenders. The LS3 looks pretty cool, mix between stock and wrapped.

I'm sure that's tight to the tire.

Well finally got my cerakoted heat shields back on the bike. Left the muffler chrome for now for contrast but I do see pitting occurring on the backside of it so it will probably be coated in the near future. I also put a new tire on the front, much needed. So took the chance to log in some miles today. 3 hours round trip. Good chance to break in the new seat and I'll say it's money well spent.

That does look better with the way the holes are the same size as the bags.
