What did you do to your Road Glide Today?

I've seen these threads on other forums, and they can go on forever. Just some place to post what you might have done in any particular day.

I'll start with this past weekend. I went out Sunday morning intending to ride down the road, any road. When the first 40mph gust of wind hit me, I changed my mind and headed over to Iron Pony instead. It being early Sunday, and the service dept was open, I decided to get the new tires I was needing. So, a few dollars later I ended up with two new Dunlop American Elites and new pads on the front brakes. They were out of the Metzler ME880's, but these are new model Dunlops, and it appears they only make two sizes so far, both just happen to fit my bike. Web site says more sizes coming in 2011. Only have about 300 miles on them, but so far they seem to be good tires. Holds the wind well :D (Sunday was VERY windy, almost got blown over getting off the bike)

Next up, Progressive 940's are on the way.

Rode from Lafayette La. To Cowboy Harley-Davidson and participated in the Highway of Honor Veterans Memorial Ride. From Beaumont back to Cajun Harley-Davidson in Scott Louisiana. Included a Ride thru parade at the Veterans Home in Jennings LA. Don't know the count but it was over 200 bikes. Some say 400.

The rain finally let up to get in a quick little 25 mile ride to test out the new pipe, air filter, tuner and floorboards.
Nothing fell off, so far so good. View attachment 429333
How are you liking the Bad Dad stuff? I've been looking at it myself and want a bigger floorboard since I wear a size 13 boot. Looks good also!

Finally got in about a 150 mile ride today and liking the boards and controls. They do have a bit more room and no vibration. Only extremely slight negative is that the brake pedal is a tad smaller and have to twist to reach, may be due to new air cleaner, but I'm okay with that cuz the looks are awesome. I've been eyeing these for ten years since I had my last Road Glide.
Thanks.

Ofcourse they are taking deposits on the first arrivals, which I told the sales mgr, with HD's track record Iam not buying anything I haven't twisted the grip on.
I was told late August/Oct to test ride one. Which I reminded the sales mgr, that Ive bought 3 bikes from, and I expect to pay less than MRSP. He said, we'll take care of you.
The store mgr stopped and said hello to me, I told her I was interested in a test ride and possible purchasing the new Sportster S, to which she told Birdie to get my info (Iam in the system) So hopefully I'll be the first one to try and break it!
She knows how much I've dropped in her store

Have recently done a few easy mods to my 19RGS. Jackpot 2-1-2 header, and Outlaw slip-ons. I finally ditched the heel shifter and really appreciate the extra space on the left floorboard for my size 12's. Pulled the rubber insert on heel shift lever and cut a section to fill in the gap left between remaining shift lever and linkage mount. Also did the 'home depot' black screen mesh mod for the fairing vents. Came out great and cost < $4. For those who are interested, fairing removal is super easy and it just takes a little time to make a template and cut the mesh to fit vent holes. I used tin snips to cut and worked fine. Found a few youtubes out there to get me going. Look up 'dickin around in the shed'...you will get a laugh but it provides a good idea of what it takes.

Also replaced my son's Yamaha MT10 stock exh (cat and slipon) with Austin Racing 'Y' pipe and slip-on. The MT10 is like a 'naked' version of the R1 with same 'cross plane' crank 1K cc motor. Hearing him quickshift though gears sounds cool as hell...sounds like a V8 with a cam.

I'm looking into something like the 'soft brake' mod but I don't want to put any spacers on floorboards. I already scrape them so maintaining clearance is priority.

If you want a cheap and easy fix for the break peddle, you can buy a soft tail break peddle and take an angle grinder to your break leaver. Under $50 and about 1/2hr gets that break out of your way.

Today had another ride, misting as I rolled the bike out of the garage.....decisions
Took off at 8AM into a light rain. Radar showed most of the storm was out to sea, so I went to the meetup spot.
Went from light rain to heavy rain, to the sun trying to burn thru. Only 8 showed up
Morning turned to overcast and dry.....but the roads were a mess.
Some off the bridges had big timbers stuck in the guardrails!!! The water must have been 2 ft over the bridge, during last night's storms.
But with a group, I couldn't stop and take a picture. Kinda wish I did now.....
251 miles today and put my weekly miles at a tad over 700. Most riding I've done since the accident, in a week, which felt pretty good. Only rained on us 4 times😂
Oh and 3 Roadies today😁

Here we're thinking if it worth trying today

Nice stop for lunch. To hungry to even think about snapping a pic😅
I had a great BLT

Forgot to add, I put the test to the wet weather traction control. Couldn't even get a wiggle out of the bike and I tried to get the tires to break loose. 3rd gear @ 3900rpm in turns, I'd wack the throttle and the bike would just pull thru the turns. Sluggest, but steady...bike felt like someone (ha) was holding the bike back.
Well Done Harley and welcome to the 21st century 👍

Pounded out another 200 miles this weekend, going up the Sea to Sky through the mountainous canyons at speeds I won't legally admit to today just putting along at 70kph up the Squamish River Valley, not needing to be anywhere at anytime unparticular. Rained on yesterday for miles, all T shirt summer riding today with another bud on his Ultra; no pics, it was miles and bevvies, relax and repeat. My comp is getting louder, so my ordered Baker comp can get here anytime now.

So how well does your 131 keep up with those Hondas?

The Honda rider remarked my Harley was going to give his Honda a heart attack.
A BMW inline 6 rider said to me at a stoplight, that thing moves pretty good for a Harley.
😂😂😂

Mind you, I didn't whore out the bike with every 131 emblem made, and very few know what it is

I hope you never take for granted the beautiful scenery you get to ride in daily.
We have to ride 50 miles just to get away from traffic😂

Had to take my 2010 RGC in for abs flush, service writer said they don't get many twin cams in with 111k . Showed him some of my improvements and was surprised I was still running a stock crank. Said he had a M8 with 50k that also uses nitrous and it needs new flywheel. Service was free cause of a recall. Hated someone else touching my bike but if you don't have the proper tools, you got no choice.

Believe me, I count my blessings every ride; yesterday was a prime example as we just putted down the river valley slow and steady, taking it all in - the sights, the smells, the road flowing on and on

Got my recently painted fairing installed and the new Alloy Art turn signals. Just in time to put the bike on the trailer and move back south to my home state.

I had the factory stripe removed and the whole fairing repainted Midnight pearl to match. The same guy who did my tank did the fairing.

Originally wanted chrome Alloy Art turn signals, to accentuate the front of the bike however they were all sold out so all I could get was black but I’m glad I did because it blends in more and you can hardly even see the turn signals there until you turn the bike on!

Due to the copious amounts of rain here in Georgia the past two days, the bike is under cover in the garage because there is no sunshine. I will get a better picture of the faring in the sunlight here soon. Until then…

OK, a few weeks ago (but I forgot to post it here), but I installed the iRIDE suspension on the bike. Full write-up with pictures in the suspension forums.

Added a few items today. Replaced the stock black tourpak luggage rack with a lighted one. Install the tour pak lid liners and had the dealer installed the H-D cool flow fan.
