I've seen these threads on other forums, and they can go on forever. Just some place to post what you might have done in any particular day.

I'll start with this past weekend. I went out Sunday morning intending to ride down the road, any road. When the first 40mph gust of wind hit me, I changed my mind and headed over to Iron Pony instead. It being early Sunday, and the service dept was open, I decided to get the new tires I was needing. So, a few dollars later I ended up with two new Dunlop American Elites and new pads on the front brakes. They were out of the Metzler ME880's, but these are new model Dunlops, and it appears they only make two sizes so far, both just happen to fit my bike. Web site says more sizes coming in 2011. Only have about 300 miles on them, but so far they seem to be good tires. Holds the wind well

(Sunday was VERY windy, almost got blown over getting off the bike)

Next up, Progressive 940's are on the way.

Pulled the fairing and added Custom Dynamics gloss black led vent screens, CD marker lights and Klockwerks windshield trim. This vacation time is getting expensive.

Snow day here in MN so decided to start the project disassembly and installation of S&S 475c cam and 55mm intake. Stopped just before removing the cam bearing to clear the inch or two we got in MN. Think I smoked the friction disc in the Ariens so will have to disassemble that too. Lunch is over so back to it.

Point of no return, just before cutting the push rods.

Front suspension due to arrive today. Hopefully didn't jump the gun, started disassembly of the front forks. Decided to replace the riser bushings with Drag Specialties polyurethane while in there. Waiting for suspension to arrive before disassembly of the second leg.

American suspension Mach7r forks assembled and installed though need to drill out the threads on the front fender for the new interior mounted fender bolts yet. Bike should be fully assembled next week. Have 14" RWD rear shocks so was aiming for a +1" front, assembled the Mach7r with stock tube was +2 over stock. I cheated the tube up a bit while retaining the top tree cover so likely a plus 1.75" over stock

I changed the stock headlight to a Hogworkz blacked out LED. While I was in there I also changed out the useless cigarette lighter to a dual port USB charger. I didn't take a bunch of pics of the process cause it was a last minute decision to do it, I lost the instructions somewhere, and I wanted to make sure it was done to ride this morning. It was a bitch to get the lights to aim in the right direction. I suppose those instructions probably would have made it easier...
Both work wonderfully though.

Paid over the phone for my Mustang seat to be rebuilt by Mean City Cycles, and it will be here tomorrow. It’ll be cold Wednesday but I’m suiting up and going to see just how much my butt likes it’s new digs on the scooter.

Installed HD oil cooler fan. Was a little bit of a bitch but finally got it in. Thundermax looks to be an easier install.

I think the USB should come stock. In my experience anything I plug in there I have to plug a USB in to anyway. I will eventually do this myself.

Yes, and they should implement USB C. USB A is already the "cigarette lighter" of charging technology.

HD probably doesn't supply them due to warranty concerns. It's cheaper and easier for them to supply the plain cigarette lighter and then let customers do what they like with it afterwards

You’re probably right but eventually they will have to jump on board. Even autos come with USB and some USB-C now. Although, most still come with the cigarette lighter too. I guess I would be happy if they did both.

Not a damn thing. I have my amp back from Biketronics sitting on the bench. The fairing is still all apart but the trike is on the lift right now. And my hip is hurting. So Nothing damn it.

It’s in the 30’s here this morning. Got my seat back from Mean City Cycles yesterday, and picked up a Shoei modular helmet to complete the winter gear set up ( I always wore half helmets, when I wore helmets at all back in the day).

Going to head out about 9-9:30 this morning to see if I’ve plugged all the weak links in the cold gear set up.

I know some of you guys ride in colder, but if I’m good for mid 30’s that will cover me for most my North Carolina riding year round,

...the arctic blast we’re getting for Christmas notwithstanding.

I’m done with the cold riding. Especially up here. It’s known as the rust belt due to salt and brine on the roads. In the spring we need a good couple days of rain before we can ride.

Got my seat back from MCC. First impression... isn't good. It seems like they took about half the padding out and that's about it. I don't get why. Doesn't feel like memory foam. I guess I won't really know until I get some saddle time.

Once we get a forecast of frozen precip they’ll brine the heck out of the roads here too. But it hasn’t happened yet, but might in the next 48 hours.

Need to ride it maybe. But I know I had a Saddleman seat that had gel in it and it was like sitting on concrete. Worst seat I ever had.

My seat was cold when it got off that truck. I have a memory foam topper on my mattress and it doesn’t soften up till I roll over on a “cool” section that’s just room temperature versus 98.6.
