Stopped by my painters shop today and bag lids and chopped tour pack are painted. He’s doing the clear coats tonight and says everything should be ready to take home tomorrow!! Have new bag hardware, bolts, weather striping, and latch guards waiting. Super stoked to get everything back on the bike as I’ve been waiting since Christmas. But I have ridden a couple times with no saddlebags which sucks…

Question. So I don’t jack it up, how long should I wait after new paint before riding?
@Roosterman623 Check with Your Painter on how long it will take for the paint to cure and be guided by his advice.
Best of Luck Brother and make sure to post some photos.

Your ride looked badass prior to the new paint. You just keep raising the bar. Still have a racing number on the bags?
No I took those off.... I have another crazy idea. .

Well, back in the 60's when Harley's were real - made from good American steel, we had painters that knew their stuff and would not deliver a bike that wasn't painted properly and ready to ride. So I'd say ride it like normal.....

Okay - really though....

Unless you get a reply from someone very knowledgeable about paint, I would ask the painter. At the end of the day, he's gonna be the one fixing any warranty issues should something go wrong. 🤷‍♂️

When I picked up tins (rear fender, bags, side covers and outer fairing) from my Painter I was concerned about putting it back together too soon. He had just finished the day before and told me to go ahead and reassembly. I was riding the next day. As long as your Painter says it’s ok I’d be out riding. Don’t forget the pics lol.

+1 asking your painter. Most paint work these days is baked under light to cure and ready to go afterwards. Better safe than sorry and find out the paint is still soft.

Talked to my painter and clear coat was finished last night. He said OK to reassemble today but he recommends waiting until tomorrow before riding……. It’s cold and rainy now, but dry and in the upper 50’s Saturday so I’ll wait to ride until then……. Picking everything up this afternoon…….

I installed Cali Raised Moto Baja Disigns LP6 headlights yesterday. Of course it started raining so I have got to use them in the real world. In a blacked out garage they are crazy bright. View attachment 455735

I’m thinking about doing this myself. Looks great man I’m curious to hear what you think when you ride with them

Well, loaded her up and tried out the center stand. There is a little wobble to it, but it is easy to get up on the stand.
I think I am going to drill and tap the feet and add a thick rubber foot. That should take some of the wobble out.

Just make sure they're not too thick or it's going to hit the exhaust. My electric stand has only so much room, thickness wise, before it hits the crossover pipe....😡

Bro, if it gives you a grin and a weird tingle down your spine then you know it's right on! Damned good for me!
Crap, I knew my ex would find me on this site eventually, at least she's still going to church, my mom will be happy! 🤣

Finally got a break in the weather and took my first rides on the new 22XE cam, nothing smoked, clanked, or blew-up, so I guess I did a good job on the cam swap. It's different than the 475c, doesn't sound the same but it is a good all around cam for the M8. Best I can describe it is that it's a consistent cam that sits you in the seat and holds you there without being overly aggressive. I even put it up a gear to lug it a little, at 2k rpm it still has a good grunt to it.
Going to do some auto-tune rides and get it dialed in, but no regrets on the cam.
