The music was great. Big Engine band and The fair Weather band especially.

I agree and was disappointed in the vendors. First rally I've ever been to where I didn't see a single thing I couldn't live without or at least just had to have right then.

Not entirely true, you could have taken a test ride on the Can-Ams....LOL.

It did seem like a lot of drunk people stuffed into a rather tight space.

The vendor selection seemed fairly typical of the rallies I have been (Performance Machine trailer, RC Components trailer, Hot Leather in multiple locations, LED lights, and all the small vendors selling stuff from the first three vendors I listed).

I went to Biketoberfest last month in Daytona and when I went looking for the Harley demo rides was told the only manufacturers that showed up were Can-am and Star. Seems Harley has bigger audiences elsewhere, although I don't know where that would have been.

I haven't seen HD there since 2007. The 2008 and 2009 rallies sucked because of Hurricane Ike and the city of Galveston's (the Stand merchants mostly) reticence to host the rally again. Local business prevailed and the rally continued. It was exponentially larger in 2010 and 2011 and is reported to be the 3rd largest rally in the US behind Sturgis and Daytona. Lets hope the larger vendors recognize this and increase their participation.

Personally, I don't care to take demo rides at rallies. I like the listening to the music, feeling the rush of the crowd, meeting old friends and making new ones, and observing the crotch rocketeers demonstrate Darwinism.

I'll go back next year.
