Well guys I was on freeway heading back to Jackson at my usual illegal
Speed ( excuse me officers) when I come upon a group of 12
BANDITOS returning from a Bandito funeral in Meridian. One of the members passed away from cancer. Anyway, they were were cruising at 70mph and I started to come up on them at a rapid rate.

Question: what is the proper etiquette here? Please vote.

You should join them at a distance or pull over and have a cup of coffee. Haven't had a lot of experience with the Banditos out here on the East Coast, but we do have a lot of Pagans, Warlocks and other small associates. Passing them when they're flying colors might be taken as a show of disrespect, especially after a funeral.

I for sure would not join them. I don't have their colors so I would not ride with them. I would most likely follow at distance or pull off and get that cup of coffee. I don't like it when 'others' try to join the group I'm in while going down the road. It's just not a good sign of respect.

I deal with alot of the club guys here in town since my watch sgt. knows I ride and I used to work part time for the local Harley shop.

Don't think I can join them, without colors
Aww c'mon. You would look good with the red and gold. Of course I didn't mean take the plunge and get the bandido tat on ur chest unless that's what you're in to. I've dealt with a lot of 1%'ers over the years. For the most part they won't screw with you unless:
1. You do something they consider disrespectful
2. They're looking for someone to screw with
3. They have been drinking and doing meth and/or coke and/or weed and
they're bored
4. There's a prospect in the group looking to make his bones
5. They need to make some money by stealing ur bike
6. Your wife/gf is on the back and they think she's hot.
Their rules only apply as to how they deal with each other. You're fair game.

And let's remember, their idea of disrespect is nothing like your idea of disrespect. Best to just keep your distance

How's it a sign of disrespect? I don't know what they're doing, where they've been or what. How would I know if they've just been to a funeral? What I know is that I'm riding to go somewhere and if I can go around them I will. Respect is something that should be given, no matter who they are. Though these people need to understand that they're a group of riders on a road and that they have to follow the same rules we all do.

Wearing some colors doesn't make you above the law.

Definitely not above the law, way below the law. You gotta remember that most of these smucks have no respect for the law or anybody thats not wearing their colors. As far as them following the rules, their whole thing is they don't follow anyones rules but their own.

Sorry... it just does not work that way. So you go ahead and do what ever you think you should be allowed to do. A cup of coffee sounds good for me.

Odds are you'll never have a confrontation with them that is bad .. If you do , well I feel for ya , you'll get a good a**whipping ..

For the most part , they dont want any trouble from you , show them respect and you get respect back .. Best thing to do if they are traveling your way on the highway , is if they wanna pass ya , slow down and let 'em go on by , if you wanna pass them , stop and get a cup a coffee somewhere .. Otherwise , just stay clear of them if you see them around town or whatever ..

They play by their rules and expect you to have a basic understanding of their rules .. If that link Mike Golf posted is the one I'm thinking it is , gives some good basic information about how they think ..

Please read the website below to get info on how to deal with MCs. Major rule "give respect, get respect".

Thanks Mike, yes I did stop and get gas and a cup of coffee ;)

I knew they had been to a funeral and they were all carrying. If I had been with my riding crew we would have passed, but being solo I decided it was time to get gas and coffee :)

Stop and/or Hang back

I don't think I'd pass. We have the Hells Angels up here, and whats the point of ticking off just ONE member.
If I'm not in any hurry I'd simply pull off at the 1st exit for gas, coffee or rest area bio.
If I'm in a hurry, I'd hang far back enough or take an alternate route if available.

After reading Mike's post and being fairly sure that "I don't understand" their rules - pulling over is the best idea; check some bolts and nuts for 3 minutes and then hit it. :D
