I have a 2013 RG Custom, the ride is hard and the bike appears higher than I would like. I weigh approximately 250 lbs and my rider weighs around 160 lbs. I want a lower rear stance with a softer ride, is this possible and what do you recommend? Thanks in advance.

Its all about , how much you want to spend. Any thing will beat the HD air shocks. A lot of folks like Howard of motorcycle metal who recommends Ohlins shocks. He will give you a great forum discount.

Lower and softer often conflict. You already have 12" shocks which have less travel then the 13" shocks that are standard on the older Ultra's. If you go even lower you further reduce the travel of the shocks. As you reduce the travel you often have to stiffen up the shocks to avoid bottoming out.

+1 Howard set me up with the steel. Made in America JRI's. I'm not sure what he will say about their newer version but trust what he recommends. You will not be disappointed.

Replacing the rear shocks will be the next Mod in line... I've seen shocks range from 900 for Ohlins to 300 for progressive... What is the best Shock for the Middle of the road pricing? Say in the $450-$500 range?
