Thinking about a color change and was wondering if there is an alternative to eBay for purchasing a complete set. Seems like most sellers on eBay are wanting around 3k plus shipping and most of these ads stay up for quite a while. Has anyone seen any other options?

My experience with ebay is you have to be patient and check often I purchased a vivid black set , complete for $1800 just before Christmas... from a HD dealership. When I see one offered locally it's usually twice what I paid.

I think you can get the bike painted any color you want for less than 3 grand. I was just at a very reputable painter last week getting an estimate on a bike. Was told $1800-$2000 to paint entire bike pearl white (not my bike).

Another idea... You could contact custom shops that are building customer's bikes. When they do a complete build and have all the oem fenders, fairings, bags left over, I am sure the customer wants an easy return. Just a thought.

The chances of finding a complete set all the same color are slim, it can happen but the chances are slim. Of the 4 sets of tins that I have cobbled together I was only able to purchase 1 complete set and even then the set was from an 05 bike and I had to find an 08 or newer tank for my paint project.

Your chances are better to put a set together from mis-match original paint parts that fit similar years. Search Craiglist in your area and within 100 miles of you to find the parts you will need. Seek out your local "Lehman" trike dealer or other dealers that do conversions, they may have spare parts or have a great list of leads for folks that have kept their old parts after a conversion to a trike.

From front to back;

Front fender; 98-13 model years same front fender will fit, $50-100 depending on condition and original paint color. Rushmore 15-17 will fit those years, $75-125
Outer Fairing; 98-13 model years same front fairing will fit, $200-400. Rushmore 15-17 $200-400
Inner Fairing: personally I had mine painted vivid black, goes with any color scheme. 98-13 $100-300. Rushmore 15-17 same price
Fuel Tank; 98-07 model years except Road King tanks, 50-400$. 08-17 same tank, again except Road King
Side Covers; 98-08 $60-100 for the pair, 09-17 same price
Rear Fender; 98-08 $40-125, 09-17 same price.

Finding exact parts for a roadglide does become a little tougher but keep searching and if you have any questions about fitment, ask away

Here is an example of bike put together with multiple year exchangeable parts. Guess which year the frame, engine and transmission are from? Those that know keep the secret, we'll make a game of it.

Im seeing a lot more "take off tins" from the Rushmore bikes these days, and they are selling cheaper than 2013 and down years.
I feel I got lucky and found a complete set of new Scarlet Red tins from a 2010 Road Glide for $2800 on ebay, that was only 100 miles from me. My bike was wrecked and i wanted fresh take offs of the same color. If your parts are not damaged, i bet you can find someone to prep and paint for about $2000-$3000 if only 1 color.

I've been thinking about this also. Now I think I'm just going to look for a complete front fairing for my 2017 Police Bike. I've painted it like an American Flag. Our local dealer has a complete Paint Set in Vivid black for a Rushmoor Glide. No tour pack. There reasonable on price I think. Shoot me a PM or look up Raging Bull HD in Durham NC. You wanna talk to DJ

Something I've been considering that is cheaper than new tins. Vinyl wrap! I want to go with a flat greysih/white similiar to the flat denim white Harley has. Leave my inner fairing gloss black. I think it can be done for around $1000 or less. I would bring all of the tins to the shop and let them wrap it. there are endless colors and patterns to choose from.

The OP didn't note which year or model set he is looking for. I'd be interested in leads for a 15 and newer panel set if the OP is looking for an older model. JC92 if you find a set I would be interested in your old set, 15 or newer. I don't care which color.

Yeah, sorry about that. I'm considering changing my 2015 Amber Whiskey RGS. I had was considering going with a take off set from a 2016 Velocity Red RGS until my nephew up and bought a 2016 SGS in that same color scheme. Now I'm not sure if I want to go with that color or something different. If I get close to pulling the trigger I'll shoot a PM to see if we can work something out.

Ok, thanks no hurry. In retirement, I do some painting at home. I like to take my time and enjoy the process. If I had an extra panel set in my inventory I could paint it for someone then swap it with theirs and eliminate their riding down time. Hope you find what you are looking for. If you do someday sale your panel set I’m willing to drive to Ohio for pickup. Laguna Orange sample

Are you saying 15-17 parts will fit on like an 07?

I guess I can only wish.

Hello Dinggus,

An explanation When i posted I didn't know what year the OP was looking for. As you can see in my picture many parts are interchangeable between 98-13 and also between models within the touring range, FLHR bags on an FLTR etc. Harley even did it themselves, they put a Road King tank on the CVO Roadglides in 2012 and changed the dashtank console. I'm told that you can't even order that console without having a 2012 CVO VIN so that they can match it up. I think it was a great idea. It allowed you to fill the gas tank to the top when the bike was on the side stand. You can't truly put the max amount of fuel in any Harley touring bike that has a center fill fuel tank while on the sidestand. For guys like me that ride tank to tank when on tour I like to fit every drop into the tank that I can to maximize my range and keep my fuel stops to the least possible.

With the Rushmore's introduction in 15 the only parts that I know of that are interchangeable backwards easily are the fuel tank and side covers they should fit 09-13 bikes, the dashtank console will also retrofit backwards to 2008. The front fenders look interchangeable but the Rushmore fenders (7 inches between) are 1/2 inch narrower than that of the 98-13 (7.5 inches between) model years.

As far as putting Rushmore parts onto an 07 frame, I am afraid it cannot be done easily. There would have to be some tweaks done to make everything fit nicely, then again, folks put 98-13 Roadglide fairings on the front of V-rods so really anything is possible isn't it. The one major difference though is the gauge/infotainment/instrument package. The Rushmore setup works on a CanBus system (whatever that is, sound like it was invented in Canada on a school bus) and the 98-13 model years worked on a different wiring system (dedicated wiring per device I believe).

I am a shade tree mechanic/cobbler of parts at best on my best day so someone with real mechanical and fabrication skills could probably make it work far better. My welding bead is most likely the saddest thing you will ever see, I am sure that middle schoolers with minimum instruction could make a better bead than me.

Somebody somewhere will be innovative and prove me wrong and do the same thing that I did with the "Love Bike", putting a host of Rushmore parts onto a 09-13 frame or even a 98-07 version. It won't be me.

Interesting post so I'm subscribing. I'm in the same spot. I paid off my 2017 Ultra and have the black quartz. I like it, but already a bit bored with it. That damn laguna orange looks awesome lol. I looked at the Harley custom black and white set (can't remember the name) but close to 10k for the complete set :surprise:

If I stick with what I have, it'll give me an excuse to trade in a few years....decisions, decisions!!!

I have a complete 15 RGS set. I bought it for the fairing. I'd sell complete set for 1500 plus shipping around 300 dealer to dealer or to a business. It's gonna be a while till I get all the parts I need no sense these just sitting around. Or I'll sell parts as needed. PM me for pics. I'll try and upload them tonight.

I'm still looking for all the internals for a Rushmore RG fairing. I'm willing to trade some of these parts for that also.
