Does anyone here have this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/291130269437

Any experience with it, how well does it work?

Installation issues? Seems straigtforward. Seems reasonably priced, and Whislter is (or used to be) a great name in detectors.

Subscribed. Interesting. I haven't had a radar detector since the early 80's so not up to date on the how advanced the technology is. I live in Alabama so keep that in mind with this question: description states for use on Motorcycles and snow mobiles. Do you really need a radar detector on a snow mobile? Are they even legal on roadways?

I have heard that hte best detector is a Valetine,,, It has two antenas or detectors , one looks forward and one looks to the rear , suspose to be the best for detecting laser , also will give you an honest direction from wich way you are being tracked,, Moe

Word of caution, I just searched Whislter's corporate website and there is no mention of this product. Looks suspicious to me.

Someone on Facebook posted a picture of it installed. They did not have any updates on how it work, it was a winter mod.

I was hoping someone on here had actually already used it.

Update, I found this for sale on Amazon, with several reviews. As many 5 star reviews as 1 star reviews. Lot's of defective unit reviews, with solution being take it off and send back for repair. Would not want to have to do that. I'm going to hold off unless I see some good honest reviews from the good folks here.

Got a buddy that put one on his Ultra Classic about a year or two ago. Said he likes it and still has it installed. He replaced his voltage gauge with it seeing as though this will monitor your voltage as well. I've been thinking about getting one for my bike to replace the voltage gauge on my FLTRXS.

That unit is at least 5 years old.
I would not recommend it.
Technology is always evolving when it comes to radar detectors.
I am part of a group that regularly tests different radar detectors and lazer jammers.
When Whistler introduced this item I bought one and tested it on a bike and a car using 2 different k band radar guns and 1 ka radar gun plus one laser gun.
While it did detect all the radar guns the range was very poor and it had a lot of false alerts.
As for off axis detection it was blind. I was able to get speed info and the detector never went off.
Off axis means targeting the car or bike from any angle not dead on to the front of the vehicle.
Lots of Police officers do this. It's very common.
As for the laser well it really does not matter since any radar detector that alerts to laser is just telling you you will be getting a ticket. hahaha
It did not detect laser until it was under 750 feet. Way to late for that. hahahahaa
Save your money.

Update on this.
I found my notes on this and we tested this in 2005 so this unit is 10 years old!
Wow time flies by!!
