I remember way back when, long before it was "the thing to do" Taking a news paper to rap up the legs and chest and then pulling out a can of ether (just in case) Kickin over the bike for that first ride of the year. back then it was because I needed to get from point A to B. I was just wondering, now that we are getting old and (well you know) Who is planning to brave the cold and set out for that first ride? If you do I think it would be cool to see some Pics. of that First ride and what you plan to change or start for 2011:rolleyes:

Our club does an annual New Years Day ride each year. Tradition says what ever you are doing New Years Day you will do throughout the year.

A local couple always has a ride-in celebration with deep-fried turkey, collared greens and black-eyed peas on New Year's Day. A few hundred bikes usually ride in and out. It is normally cold (some more years more than others), but the forecast for Saturday is 68 with a 30% chance of showers.

Denver has a ride called the Brass Nut run held on the last day of the year. It looks like it will be a little chilly, down into the teens for a high:) Thank god for heated gear.

Here in the Nations Capitol, we dodge the big snow storm Sunday and barely got an inch. The forecast for New Years is 50 degrees with a 30%chance of rain.
SoI will be heading out but probably on the choper since the glide is kind of torn down right now.

Add to my check list to pick up that can of ether..Just in case

Hey Smoke, Not that this is a ride I could make this year, but where is some info on this ride? Can't seem to find anything online that's detailed (not that I bothered searching through more than the first handful of results). Thanks!
