I finally recd what i ordered with my purchase 5 weeks ago, but it wasnt what i ordered. What came was a 14in windvest in smoke, i was expecting a 12 in gunsmoke. WHAT A DIFFERENCE a decent shield makes. I will still get the 12 in and try it and maybe keep both. I was amazed at how good the 14 incher does i am 5ft 8 in and see over the top for the most part and am really pleased. the looks suffer just a bit but still looks great.

I've been on the fence between the 12 and the 14 for weeks. Just cant make up my mind. Im 6-00 and want the shield to be about chin level. I'm on a stock seat. So you think I'd be good with the 14"?

14 0r 12

You cannot buy the 14 in gunsmoke as its too high and too dark, they do not make it. the 12 can be purchased in gunsmoke, go to windvest site and see pictures of all options, i dont know how to post pictures i dont have yet.

sorry

I stand corrected, i was told they did not offer the gunsmoke in 14 for the above reasons. I would caution you as to being able to comfortably see thru the gun smoke when cresting a hill where you have no other choice, and in the dusk, maybe even worse. I would like the darker 14 but will do with the darker 12. Its a tough decision for sure.

Just got back from a 2100 miler to the Adirondacks with the 14" Windvest. It's a good city screen, but above about 60 or so it just buffeted the hell out of my head. It was so bad above 70 that I had a hard time seeing the rider in front of me. My head was being jerked around so much that I couldn't focus on the road ahead. I sit tall in the saddle - comparable to a guy about 6'4" due to a long torso. I either need a taller screen, or, someway to reduce the buffeting. Read somewhere that guys were saying installing lowers helps.

I like the looks of this screen, but the highway speed buffeting leaves me looking for another solution.
