I just want to let anyone know that's looking for a tuner in the Atlanta area WOODS PERFORMANCE TUNING is spot on!!. I have been looking for a relieble tuner in my area with no luck until I found Bill Woods. He was trained by Doc Weaver in Orlando. He's very professional and and very thorough. I dropped my 13 RG off to him on tuesday afternoon and I got it back Last night and I road it home. My god this thing RUNS!!!!.

My RG has a S&S 124LC and I have tried a few different tuners. Powervision, thundermax and now TTS. I couldn't find a tuner for the Powervision in atlanta so I tried thundermax. That was a $800.00 WASTE!!! It pinged like a SOB and I wasn't happy. I had Bill Woods run a base line using the thundermax and the best run was 103hp and 110tq on a 124CI. He removed the thundermax and installed TTS and got 122hp and 133TQ on a slipping clutch. That's 19hp and 23TQ above the Thundermax what a JOKE!

I'm happy!!! I'm sure the numbers will go up when I replace the clutch :D:D:D

Bill Woods prices were GREAT!!

Good numbers and I'm glad you're happy, but I wouldn't rate the TMax on the word of someone who doesn't like them. According to Doc and most of his students, nothing else matters but TTS, but go to the race track. ..... different story. I'm not bashing the TTS, or promoting Power Vision or TMax, just saying whatever tuner you use, go with what they're comfortable with, because that's what they're going to make work. BTW, do not buy the SE race clutch, ask me how I know, lol.

Bill didn't say anything bad about the Thundermax. He never put down the tuner. I did.He showed my the 5 pulls he made and said the a/f ratios were all over the place. Numbers don't lie. For the 800.00 bucks I spent on the tmax you would think it would be a lot better. Thanks for the info on the clutch.

Tuners and devices

The only way to truly tune your bike is to is get into the on board computer and hire the right guy to tune it.if he is not spending 6 to 8 hours hitting every cell front and rear cylinder then both together the bike is not tuned.just saying

Look to BANDIT for a great clutch that can hold that 124 and still not work your forearm to much. It is an awesome clutch. I have a BANDIT behind my Road Glide and my 124" Softail.

If the person doing the tune is not familiar with a tuner and how to make adjustments with that particular tuner then they never will get good results.
It is hard to find places that are familiar with the Thundermax tuners and know how to dyno tune using the T-max tuner. I would think it is because most T-max users don't need dyno tunes because they can make their own timing adjustments and not have to worry about AFR.
I know that Trask Turbo in Phoenix uses the Thundermax tuners in the bikes that they build and can dyno tune the T-max tuners.
If you don't know how to make the AFR adjustment then it takes the auto tune feature about 30 miles of riding to get the AFR adjusted close and for a spot on AFR it takes 3 to 5 riding sessions.
If you have a T-max and it spark knocks it is in the timing not in the AFR and some simple timing adjustments will fix the problem.

Like Q said, good clutch if you want to build Popeye type forearms, but not if you like to ride. The clutch has a very heavy grip, no slippage at all, and would be great for racing, (it does say race clutch ), not good for normal riding, terrible and almost unbearable in stop and go traffic, plus you have to adjust it as often if not more than you change oil.

After installing D&D Fat Cat pipes and a stage 1 Fuel moto air cleaner on 15RG Special, I knew I wanted to go with the TTS. After reading this post I took a shot in the dark and gave this guy a call. He is about 2 hours away from where I live. I couldn't be happier with the decision. The bike runs great and pulls hard all the way thru. Bill is a super guy, very knowledgeable and his products and equipment. When it comes to my bikes I'm usually not one to just go to a complete stranger, but this worked out great. Will definatley use him again.

There is no replacement for someone who knows how to tune. Getting the timing and ve's correct is voodoo for most dyno operators.
