Looking to buy 2008 tank from Road Glide, Street Glide or Ultra. Color does not matter as I will need to re-paint it to match my CVO paint.

In '08 the fuel pump injection guts changed and all touring bikes were TBW, throttle by wire. How the apparatus is mounted inside the tank changed as well. The hole under the tank console in 2008+ bikes is round. The hole under the console in 2007- bikes is oval. The fuel pump system between 07- and 08+ bikes are not interchangable.

In order to retro-fit an 08 tank to your bike you will most likely have to do the following.

1. Find an 08 tank, pump, filter, gauge sending unit and wiring harness
2. Change your seat. The seat mount is different on 08 tanks. On 07- the "tongue" was on the seat. On 08+ the "tongue" is part of the tank and the seat has a slot to accept it.
3. There could be other more expensive changes like ECM and TBW to make it all work

Frame change was from the tank back essentially in 09. The 09+ bikes need slightly longer side covers and the rear frame was widened to accept a wider tire.

I have seen the rear frame portion from an 09+ bike mated to an 08- bike. There is a custom shop here in Alberta that does those conversions.

Interchangable parts from 98 to 13 roadglides

1. saddle bags
2. front fender
3. inner/outer fairing
4. tourpak

Interchangeable parts 98-07

1. saddle bags
2 front fender
3. side covers
4. rear fender (08 rear fender also fits 07 back)
5. inner/outer fairing
6. fuel tank
7. tourpak

Interchangeable parts 08-13

1. Fuel tank
2. front fender
3. innner/outer fairing
4. saddlebags
5. tourpak

** rear fender changed in 09 and will not retrofit backwards without major modifications**

Interchangable parts 09-13

All major body parts

08 was/is an orphan year of production.

I like to call my 08 a 1 year only collectable bike. Orphan seems kinda harsh

My bike is 2007. Frame change in '09. Does that make any difference?
Yep, it does. The 6 gallon tank will not fit without changes/welding on the '07/earlier frame.
Tabs, motor mounts, coil locations, wiring, fuel delivery system....
