Adjustable Fairing Bracket

I have a 2009 Glide that I am adding vented lowers to. So I am going through the process of raising my fairing in order to get lowers on the bike. I bought this bracket that looks alot like the old Hells Foundry adj. bracket. My intention is to raise the fairing approx 1-1/2" to line up with my tank lift. I was also going to adjust the angle a little to clean up the look from the side and maybe help with aero (maybe not). But anyways the idea of having lots of adjustment would help me get the fairing exactly where I want it to be. My only issue is it seems that the bracket gives me little choice but to push the fairing forward approx 2" also. I am curious if anyone here has experience with these, or the Hells Foundry version, if moving your fairing that much forward creates any issues. Did the hells foundry version do the same? Does the 2010 fairing mount move the fairing forward also compared to the 2009 and earlier? I am curious what the specs are for the HD 2010 fairing mount before I decide to start cutting on this bracket to make it match better with stock bracket. I could see moving it little bit forward, but a min of 2" seems like alot. It seems like I could cut the entire rear portion of this bracket off, drill new holes and still be able to move the faring forward 1"
I found some older threads of people on here (Direwolf was one) that had the Hells foundry version of this bracket and im curious if any of you had any input on how this plays out.

Can't answer your question, but on my 2009, I had to get the non vented lower fairings. A lot less hassle than replacing the fairing bracket.

But it might be a little too late if that photo is you in your shop.

Yep already taken apart. I painted the inner fairing last weekend, I still have a few other things to do (raising front end 1", paint lowers, new bars, etc.) before it goes back together, but im trying to get this squared away before it gets too late, in case I need to either fabricate or buy something new.

Not sure, I wasn't wanting to move it forward at all. I want to raise it. But this bracket, if used as is, only allows me to install it approx 2"- 4" more forward than the stock bracket. I think I'm going to cut off the mounting slots and drill new holes where I want them, once I figure out where that is.

The first pic is the adj bracket pushed as far towards the rear as possible. The second pic is stock

what are you using for the mounts that go between the turn signals and the crash bar? on the pre-rushmore, those mounts are critical. there is a 'hidden fairing mount' that can be used, but you gotta use something.

why didn't you buy an oem mount? that mount is not that expensive.

I have a pair of hidden mounts. The same as the old hells foundry hidden mounts.
It wasn't about cost, more about the idea of adjustability. This bracket seemed like a good idea, as the specs list 4" of vertical adjustability along with the ability to tilt it up and down. The issue I'm having is the 2-4" of forward push it has. I'm not sure I like that.
I am likely going to try to mod this bracket to get what I think I want. If it doesn't work out as planned I'll grab a factory 2010 bracket and move on.

From looking at your pics, I think your mod sounds spot on….. I assume you’ve checked that after doing the mod, you’ll still have the up / down adjustability you’re looking for to lower the fairing?

And good you already picked up an alternative to replace the turn signal to engine guard brace. When I added a chopped engine guard to my pre-Rushmore, I went with cheap brackets off Amazon that triangulate from the front gas tank bolt over to the turn signals. They’ve worked out fine. I was also hoping these style braces would cut down on air coming up the sides of the gas tank, but no dice on that….. So for looks, I plan to eventually change them out for the one that installs inside the fairing from the radio mount over to the signals….

Yeah there are slots for the fairing bolts that have about 1-7/8" adjustment upwards from the stock mount by my measurement. I'm thinking I'll end up about 1-1/2. The goal is get the graphic on the fairing to line up with the tank again. I have a 1-1/2" tank lift so +/- I should get there.

I think I have those same lower mounts you are referring to Rooster. I was thinking the same thing, then changed my mind to the hidden brackets.
