Great post here everyone! Getting opinions from this many knowledgable fellow riders is invaluble! Thanks to all who contribute...good stuff!
Merry Christmas fellas!
My "knowledgeable riding" comes from riding on a dyno for 21 years now, and building engines for 6-7 day, 80-90 hr work weeks for 30, and not an opinion, which gets confused in threads. ;)

Hey Scott, all due respect brother!...that's the point I was so poorly trying to make...having access to your and other's expertise that only comes from years of experience, is priceless. I could spend a lifetime asking for advice and/or opinion from the people I know or happen to run into and probably not come close to the level of expertise found here on this thread!
Thanks to you and others for sharing your know-how here...for free!

Happy New Year everybody!

So I shot a video of my bike to share with you. I think I mentioned earlier but the thread kind of took off. I started off with K&N Breather and a V&H 2-1 Pro Pipe HO. I was going to go with the reaper 574 cams only but at the last moment I added the Revolution 107 kit. I had a fuelpak that I have hated forever and with the new set up I went with a Thundermax ECU w/ autotune.

I think it sounds funny?!? Shrug... I just switched to synthetic and the mechanic said it's good so I'm good.

I've put about 400 miles on the bike and I am really...really happy with it. It puts the power right where I want it. It is not slugish above 1500 rpm and is all there around 2800. They also put on 12" carlini flying apes and riding it is more fun I am really enjoying the visibility provided by the mirrors now. :) I went to traxxion dynamics today but they were closed (damn you google maps hours listing) anyway it put me on 50 miles of Atlanta highway both ways 285 75 85... Places I avoid usually and I found I could be where I wanted to be with a flick of the wrist. Where before I hated these roads because I didn't think the RG was quick where you need it for these high speed highways.

I think that eventually I'll get the heads done but want to do the suspension next.

Like the original post, I too am trying to decide on the right Cam. Lol...now I'm really confused...lots of feedback to consider. (Really don't want to "experiment" by swapping them out until it's finally right). Ugh.

2012 FLTRX - Bike will have heads done by HD-Street-Performance, 107 jugs (maybe), cat-removed head pipes, and V&H Monster Round 4" slip-ons.

Leaning towards the 57H and/or the TW-555. Don't mind running higher compression with a .030 head gasket change etc. Does a guy just stop the madness and drop a 48H in it and call it a day, or go more towards a 57H etc?

Start doing your homework, otherwise you will be so confused by everyones comments that you won't know what to do. Ask 100 guys for their recommendations and you will more than likely get 100 different opinions as to what is best. What is best for you might not be best for anyone else. Your riding style will ultimately dictate your choice of cam shafts.

What do you guys think???

2013 RG with stock internal 103. Currently V&H Fuel Pak, V&H Power Duals with RC Components 4.5 mufflers, and a Screamin Eagle Ventilator AC. Now I am thinking cams. I typically ride two up cruising style. And even when it just me and the boys riding I am not a red line bandit. Don't ride like that anymore.

Would like some low to mid level torque for easy acceleration and passing in 5th or 6th gear when needed. I see a lot of people recommending the Andrews 48 and other similar grinds. Anyone use the Redshift 525 cams by Zippers?
Would these put me in the torque window I am looking for? Thinking Zippers because they are in Maryland and I live in Maryland, you know, buy local.

Any help would be appreciated,

Hawkman

Cams

I have a bike similar to yours. I am running SE255's no head gasket change etc. PC5 from Fuel Moto. a couple of my friends are riding CVO's and I have no problem hanging with them and or pulling away... The power/torque is perfect. mpg is a consistent 42 plus (speed varies). Good luck. CSM-H

Where is the best place to buy cams or kits? I am looking into putting the Andrews 48 in a 2015 RGS. I already have S&S Lifters and Adjustable Pushrods. Also, it has PV Tuner, Jackpot Header with stock mufflers. Thanks

If you already have heads done by Don then you should call him. The 48h is great for a stock bike, but probably would be wrong for your bike with work already having been done. Don did a set of heads for me and they've performed really well.

I contacted my local HD dealer today to get some oil so I can do a few oil changes on the bikes in my garage. While talking to them I explained to the service manager what I was thinking about as far as cams. He thinks I should do the HDSE 211 cam since I have had no head work done. Claims this is the best cam for a stock 103 with the air and exhaust changes I have made. It will build torque in the low and mid RPM range and will not cause any undue stress on my stock components. The upgrade would include their cams, cam bearings, and SE adjustable push rods.

Thoughts...Anyone have experience with these cams?

Thanks

Nobody that I'm aware of runs that cam. Must be a good reason why.

Probably a silly question but cams are going in this week and wondering if the bike needs to get a tune afterwards? The dealer is doing the work and insists a tune is required even though I have a V&H Fuelpak installed. Is this legit or they just bending me over for more money? TIA gents.
