My RGS has the following: -
Set of CVO mufflers
CVO air intake
Fuel pack FP3
that's it for the engine.

I was in a situation on Wednesday - long straight road and no traffic so I thought I would see what it would do.
down to fifth and red line than up to sixth; throttle wide ope and I could only get 180 Km/hour---no more.

It was a flat road - no hills.

BTW 180 KPH is about 112 MPH.

It felt good and secure at that speed, but I thought it would do more.

Any comments??

Had a tuned '05 that would run 135. Never realized they had a limiter till my'15 CVO but how often do you really run more than 110-115? I use my phone GPS for accuracy, bike is off by 2 MPH, Porsche is off by 4. Porsche by the way does that on purpose. If you get a green Stamp you cannot sue them for the speedo being off.
Also I think stock Busa, Vette, Porsche and most others are capped at 183 or 186 something like that.

That’s normal. Most aftermarket tuners will not automatically turn off your speed limiter. An actual power vision dyno tune will eliminate that. I know for a fact that I can do 134 mph in 5th and 154mph in 6th

I have a power vision tuner on my bikes. I contacted Fuelmoto concerning speed limiters. Here is their reply...

Thanks for reaching out to us. Yes the Power Vision removes the speed limiter on the Milwaukee-Eight motorcycles. All of our custom fuel maps already have this applied out of the box as well! Please don't hesitate to reach out if there was anything else that we could be of assistance with

I have exceeded the speed limit farther than I care to admit to on a public forum

Before or after you contacted Fuel Moto? lol

My bike goes fast enough to get a speeding ticket. As a side note on the 08 models you can't set the cruise control above 80 mph and HD won't reflash the ECM to set the cruise to a higher limit. When I had the Thundermax ECM I could set the cruise at any speed I wanted.

Just keep in mind about your tires when running top speed. Most tires sold for HD are H rated . That's approved up to 130mph.
You'll need v rated if you build your bike to top 130 mph and ride at that speed very often.
Can't say I pay much attention to the Speedo after 90. :)

i'm guessing the newer bikes probably do have some kind of limiter (kinda doubt that it is in the wheels, LOL), but not for sure.

On my 2012 SG, I had 255 cams and good exhaust and breather. Broke 120 on it.
On my 2016 cvo rgu, I have had even more motor work. Buried the 120 on the speedometer early in 5th gear. Moved on to 6th gear for a good ways. Hard to say what top speed was, but guessing (calc gears/rpm) I was in the 140's. was racing a breakout with cams and such. never did pass that sob.

that's about it for a stock glide the wheels have rev limiters on them and only allow so many rpms before it starts applying the brakes. this keeps the rubber from expanding and rubbing the fenders.

It all makes sense now ^^^^ this is probably why I can't get back to the future. Problem solved on that front.

On another note, my 96" 2010 Street Glide would bury the needle at 120 mph and eat up the lines on the road like pac man without an issue. I never went that fast yet on either one of the RG's I've had. Keep it safe out there gents!
