Done: 4-point base and comfort styled saddlebag guards

Installed the bolts instead of the pins to secure the bags... The photos are while doing the install... I later tighten the bolts all the way...

 

Why have you not installed any Sanchos wings yet?? Thats the first thing that should go on your new bike,.

I tend to agree with Chainsaw on this one. Sancho Wings should be the first install on any new RG. They have made the most difference on controlling airflow.

FAIRING MOUNTED AIR DEFLECTOR for ROAD GLIDES

These deflectors greatly reduce the wind coming from the side of the fairing and will reduce the wind noise and buffeting that hits you in the face and ears.

Do these really work? Not sure about the looks... I will have to see a Road Glide with these installed before I can decide...

Installed the Iron Aces Speed Shop Road Glide iPhone/GPS Mount.

Installed... also, until now, I thought the inner fairing was painted black with some metallic flakes... nope, it is a deep blue with metallic flakes... Looks like black during the day, fooled me...

On another note:

Stand extension installed.

The correct drill bits (cobalt) made all the difference on the amount of effort and broken bits (NONE!!!).

Thanks. If Harley would of made a 2012 SERG that had all the cool goodies of the 2012 SESG, it would of been traded in. Your bike is damn nice don't get me wrong, but I just wonder why they didn't add all those goodies that the streetglide got.

Nice thread of your progress. Can't wait until you post pics of the finished product, if there is such a thing! I know what your talking about with the blue inner faring. Saw the same thing on an EG. Didn't catch it until the sun hit it at the right angle.

its only money, just pick up the painted lowers with speakers
and bag lids, I got the name of the guy here that paints for all the dealers
and he can color match CVO paint

Did my rear fender and CVO fascia spot on with Rio Red.

So what windshield will you go with.

I'd suggest waiting for Bfest and dropping by the windvest
booth, they will put them on for you to test ride,better than
the buy and try program...

 

At first, I wanted lowers... now I am not so sure. The temperatures in Florida, and the fact that I am fine with the amount of speakers currently on the bike... same for the saddlebag lids with speakers, they look cool as heck, but not sure I want to do them just for the added speakers... So still on the fence on those two. If it had come with the bike from the factory that would have been a different situation... but now, I don't know...

Shield, I like your idea of checking them out during Biketoberfest. I like the looks of the original shield, bike came with the windsplitter from the factory. But it needs to be a couple of inches taller so I was thinking of the new one they came out with, same style but a tad taller. Again, I will wait and test the ones from Windvest before going with the HD option.

Great work on the CVO!

I was at HD Museum looking at the 2012 CVO's on the weekend and got to say I am 90% to make the move this fall/winter season.

They have done some great things on the new CVO's and although not cheap I think there is value, performance and quality on the new ones improved from years past.

The seat on the 2012's is great for a stocker and the features of the Customs are well appointed while remaining somewhat bad ass for a factory ride.

Your modifications very tasteful and functional. Well done, keep sharing and most of all... Enjoy.

That is how all this started... I went to order two medallions for my Sedona Orange bike and the rest, as they say, is history... still waiting for the medallions... backordered for a month...

Well, I still do not have them. But I want to keep them once they get here. I want to use one for the front of the air cleaner and the other one on the Tour*Pak

Man Im gonna have to see one of those in person out in the sun. Pictures are hinting, but never do a bike justice. It looks gooood.

 

On the previous bike I must have taken that front fairing off a dozen times... I want to minimize that on this one. So I will do all changes that require removal of the fairing in one pass... At least that is what my plan is...

I am using the Metra Universal On Glass Amplified AM/FM Antenna - 44-UA200
Got it for 18.24 + 3.75 (shipping) from Amazon.com - Metra 44UA200 - This I had from the previous bike. I am going to follow some of the recommendations by PGR (Hidden antenna with a twist), so I ordered the splitter

This will allow me to run both antennas at the same time. Good for when I install the tour pak and need to remove rear antenna...

I will also run the power to the GPS (GPS mount already in place...)

Order a pair of PIAA light bulbs (PIAA 70856 H4 Xtreme White Antivibration 60/55 Watt = 110/100 Watt Bulb - Pair). I have a HID kit but I am not sold on using those with the current housing... I will wait for a proper solution that has the correct light housing/projector and go with that later, for now, better bulbs will do...

A few photos from the ride yesterday. Was able to put 100 miles on it... riding this weekend to Jacksonville and St. Augustine. So I will be able to put a few more miles in the next few days, rain or shine baby, rain or shine

 

HID works fine with those housings, I run it.

the PIA is that with the canted fairing, the
lights are always off from the dealer, mine even
had one of the screws turned all the way back
the other was all the way forward..

Check them, which you do by pulling off the lens cover
up front.

I think you'll be fine, you can do this easy
enough, get some heavy duty velcro from Home Despot or Lowes
use it to attach the ballasts to the side plates by the radio, Used the
radio mount bolts for the ground for each ballast

You might find the HID bulbs a little large for the housing,
just dremel it out with a sanding wheel to fit and use a vac
to suck out the filings.

Did you do Hi/Lo Bi -xenon or just Low.

You will need a 6.5 mm socket to adjust the light assembly.

 

I am going to go ahead and order the PIAA bulbs, the HID I have are not hi/low unit

just a question. Can you give the specifics on the Handle Bars. Stock #? Are they the heritage or the new mini apes?

 

Those are stock units, I need to stop by the dealer this week and can get you the part number ( I am going to buy the parts manual for the CVO, very handy to see the parts diagram ).
