Hey guys, im swapping cams, when i remove the cam plate and oil pump as 1 unit, can i reinstall the same way? Im just swapping cams . Needle bearings have all ready been changed. Just simply swapping cams. Thanks!

I’d say yes. I was considering the opposite when I put the cam in the wife’s. Pull just the cam plate do the bearing pop the cam in and slap the cam plate back on. Just to not deal with the o-rings for the pump. If that didn’t work just pull the pump
Out too and replace the o-rings. I’d replace the o-rings when the oil pump came out.
If you remove the cam plate and oil pump as 1 unit, you may fight the oil pump gerotors getting the flats lined back up with the crank. Also, just as a precaution, don’t reuse the oil pump spigot o-ring, just get a new one. Not worth the risk or a small cut or tear and effecting oil pressure
Good info. I guess its best just to remove plate, then pump and re assemble one at a time carefully replacing the o ring so i dont have to fight the georotor flats. Thanks guys
