Ok, Im going to try and make this short and sweet. First off i have a 2018 Roadglide in Bonneville Salt Pearl. I have purchased fairing lowers and pods at seperate times through Advan Black. First was the lowers. Color match was good. Fit and finish is a different story. The edges on the plastic are harsh and sharp making paint around the edge look like crap. Fitting also doesn't line up 100% as well within 1 day of install a glove gear broke. I emailed Advan Black and after a lengthy process (before covid) All i got was a new glove box and my fit and finish was ignored. Fast forward to within the last months i purchased lower pods to add speakers. Color match is off , rough edges with flaky paint. My bike was at the installers shop and riding season is coming to an end for me for i had them just throw it on and ill deal with it. I went through a dealer this time and besides and acknowledgement i have been ignored. Currently it has been 17 days with no response from Advan Black and i have followed up with the response of "ill check" back to me.

For me this whole experience is not worth it and even if Advan Black tries to fix this issue i will not order again. I will not recommend them either unless you know it may be crap.
If you have stuff from them and its good. Great! im happy but for me ill take this as a 500ish mistake and ill just spend the 1k and go straight to Harley. The bike is my baby and people may say im to picky. Truth is i may be to picky but this bike was a dream and a goal so i am picky.

Yeah, I don't blame you for wanting something done about that. I know there's dealers on FB that always promise "I'll make sure it's right" blah blah blah. Sorry you have to deal with that.

You run into fitment issues with knock off lowers because they are made with thinner plastic. It throws off the fit and finish. Unless you are getting the vivid black lowers off eBay for $100 it’s just not worth it to me. On top of that the knock off glove boxes are just horrible.
There is a difference between the H-D parts and the knock off ones. That’s why there is a price difference. It is what it is. But there are places out there to order Genuine H-D lowers at a pretty nice discount. Horny Toad H-D for example. After you look at there prices between a color matched knock off set and a discounted set it not that bad.

Your’s is the first I’ve heard of a dissatisfied customer from Advanblack.
I got my Vivid Black Pre-Rushmore Advanblack Lowers Off eBay for $174. They were great. I was so happy, I ordered, and now have received CVO Stretched Vivid Black Saddlebags. I found them to be as thick and strong as Factory Harley Saddlebags. I’m satisfied with Advanblack. I’m now thinking about ordering a King Tour Pak. But I am ordering Vivid Black, not a Pearl color.
I’m sorry to hear you didn’t get what you expected.

The color match i can give them a pass to fix but the fit and finish bugs me. When paint is flaking on the edges it just bugs me and the defect on the fit. I tried many times to fix it and also and a shop try and fix it and its just wont fit. Tomorrow will be day 19 with no customer service and honestly i dont expect them to do anything anytime soon

You get what you pay for, I recently bought several items from The Factory Match and the color, fit, and finish was perfect. Did I pay more, you bet, but I am not going to put cheap Chinese dime store parts of my Road Glide. I would NEVER purchase from AdvanBlack. This spring in Daytona Bike Week I visited their booth, the person at the booth was inattentive and more interested in drinking his cocktail and checking out the ladies than answering any questions that myself and others visiting the booth were asking. Several of my friends had the same experience there unfortunately. Just my opinion...

I’d been pissed and disappointed with those too.

In my best "Joe Biden" voice, "Look! Here's the deal, Advon Black, is same as HD, what happens is, HD and Wang industries make a contract to make HD parts exclusively, thing is, its China. So Wang, gets with Chung and shares the contract specs and Chung runs Advon. Same stuff, a few minor changes, to claim plausible deniability by Chung when Wang is questioned by HD as to how come Advonblack can sell cheaper, pretty much the same thing? point is, a lot of HD stuff, A LOT is made in China. Contemplate that for what its worth.

Full transparency, i bought a King Tour Pack, color matched, Scorched Orange, perfect. assembled easy, and for the few that know, (wasnt even my wife, just a girlfriend), she packed that mofo to the gills. i said, "leave room", to her it was, "oh i can take this and that" and you know what, half the crap she didnt use. i ended up mailing clothes back to make room for a few things i bought as well as the crap she didnt use so my bike was lighter...women...SMDH...first two up trip, being a nice guy. solo going forward. HA HA!

just to make sure that you are aware, the hd tour packs are not made in china. all their plastics are made at the tomahawk facility in (surprise) tomahawk, wi and then shipped to york, pa.

and they are not, 'just the same'. for my money, i'll spend the regular bucks on the hd tour pack. between the hd and the advan color matched painting, they are very close in price. now the racks, mounts, etc. i'll go cheap on them.

my example: industrial gray denim king tour pack.

hd price: $706.82
advanblack: $799.00

now granted, the advan comes with a backrest pad and lockset. with hd you would have to pay extra for that. but for that close in price, i'll go with hd.

Yes there is a clear difference in the plastic of the HD tp and the China ones. I am happy with my China tp and paid a lot less than what I would have for an HD tp, but if I put mine beside an HD tp you would be able to tell the difference.

if you don't mind, i'd like to ask you what you bought and what you paid?

i know that you can buy stuff that is pretty much equivalent to the advan black stuff, but in vivid black for really cheap. i've seen a king tour pack on amazon in vivid black for less than $200. my lowers came from amazon, i paid $105 for them. but, with having to get color matched, that drives the price up substantially.

#20 ·
I got mine off of amazon, from seller TCMT. It is a vivid black one as that was the bike I had at the time. I paid just over $500 Canadian for it, came with everything except the 4 point docking. I have seen it for as low as $435. Now with the new bike being grey I talked with an autobody shop and they are going to paint it for $350.

Mine is a Chopped btw.

yep, that's who my lowers came from. that is also who i saw the king tour pack on amazon for sale for $179 from. that works for my bike, but my wife's is industrial grey denim, and unfortunately, you aren't going to find any cheap ones already painted on amazon. that's where the link up between hd and advanblack comes in. i can buy the hd color matched tour pack from hd for $700. the docking hardware i already have, and a mounting rack i may already have as well. so all i need to purchase extra would be the backrest pad and the lockset. don't need the full wrap around one, setting it up in solo config so the backrest pad can be had for $35. and the lockset would have to be purchased as well. if you wanted your keys to match, you'd have to purchase that extra with advanblack too.

plus i have almost $200 in harley chrome cash saved up right now, so that knocks another couple bills off. still comes out cheaper going genuine vs aftermarket and paying to have it painted.

in your case, though, you already have everything so it's like looking at $350 out of pocket which is not bad any way you look at it.

First your the first one on this forum ever to mention Chrome cash I have used my card since they first appeared at least 10 years now 2 bikes to maintain... big help come spring pick up. Thousands saved Good for you. Now there are two things that Harley does exceptionally well.Fiberglass and chrome No one does it better These bikes are top dollar and the parts are right there. There are endless complaints about aftermarket fiberglass some of these upgrades and or custom parts have to be H-D I will say this I did ask a service writer once about body parts from Bad Dad and he admitted they were the one as close as you could get to OEM and they look Bad Ass give their web site a look. They are not cheap but they paint

Yep if you need a Black one then the ones on Amazon are perfect. If you need an HD color match then the decision becomes much more tricky as the price of the HD ones looks much better. All said I will be into mine for under $900 which is still cheaper than I can get an HD TP for but the price gets closer for sure where the quality may sway towards the HD TP. But moot point for me as my bike is a Ford color "leadfoot grey" so I would still need to have it painted lol

I’ve ordered lower speaker pods, 8” lids and just received my color matched razor Pak from Advanblack. All Midnight pearl and i couldnt happier.

My Scorched Orange TP was and is spot on. It's for trips anyways, sorta think I should have just gotten a black one, save a few bucks...live and learn. My MO is to load up, ride somewhere as a base, strip the TP and ride "clean"... Every thing I or buddies got from Advonblack has been well worth the price.

there's 2 of them. one gives more points than the other. it's called the signature card. has a high interest rate though, but like i said, i never carry a balance. i think it's around 25%. and they'll give you some bonus for applying, then they periodically have promos during the year to get extra points. plus, you get points for miles ridden (i don't live close enough to a dealer to mess with that one).

redemption is pretty cool too. you can either have a physical card sent to you (but why?), good at any dealer. or you can have it put into your rewards account immediately.

i have the HD card with rewards, just buy and a text pops up asking how much, when you swipe the card. i am about done buying, so going forward i may use it to get the actual gift cards for my buds that i ride with or maybe the grandkids so theyre exposed to HD more, they already love riding and i see them on a bike one day. plant the bug early.

my star card just sits in a drawer, i only used it on base, particularly when active before retirement as i used it for uniforms and accouterments...

sure, i can support that. i forget that not everyone lives like we do. we don't have a local meat market or butcher. our choices here are market basket, walmart, and the commissary. i could drive an hour to get to kroger or albertsons, but that's not really practical. we used to have a butcher where you could go in and order a steak and have it cut as thick or thin as you wanted. that was pretty cool, except when one steak was almost $30!!!! but they closed down. i sure do miss that place.

Figure id give you all an update. I have giving up trying to work with them as i have been ghosted. It's not worth the hassle. Covid had hit the wallet hard for my household and this just isn't worth the stress. I will live with the lowers for now until I either have more cash or just stop caring. Id rather put the money it cost to fix on other stuff when the time comes. Lesson learned.

So I just purchased saddlebags , tour pack, fender extension, and all hardware and locks, so far I’ve received the speaker lids, and saddlebags, not happy with the unfinished edges so far, Hope hardware covers some of it.
