Folks, thinking of running MPX 690.3 in the stock saddlebags with a SounDigital 800.4s in one of the saddlebags. I Also want to add tour pack speakers later and have that same amp power those as well down the line. I run the 6.5 millies and diamond amp in the front fairings and lowers.

Sounds like a solid setup.

I have two of the SD 800.4 amps in My 12 Custom and they work great.
SD is coming out with a new smaller version of their 800.4 amp, as well as some of their other amps very soon, so if You can wait awhile it may be worth it.
Another good choice for speakers are the Ground Zero 7x10's and the MMats PA690.4cx.
It all depends on which speakers Your ears like.
Hope this helps.
Best of Luck and keep Us posted.

I hear my lids for sure going down the interstate. Of course you will hear the fairing better, but the lids still can be heard. Plenty of clean power and tuned properly. Unplug the lids and you can tell the difference for sure

What year is Your Glide Bro?
The new SD 800.4 amps are nice and small with the same power, if not more, like the originals, I believe.
I have a 2012 Custom and have 2 of the original 800.4's mounted between each glove box and inner fairing.
The newer versions would fit much better.
If You have a Rushmore Glide I would definitely go for the newer version as the space in the fairing is less than a Pre Rushmore. If it's 2013 and down You may find a great deal for an original SD 800.4 and save some cash.
Either way, You won't go wrong with Soundigital.
Hope this helps.

I guess it depends on how you assign value. There’s nothing miraculous about a new 1200.4 when it comes to performance compared to previous generations so if the upgrade is performance based, I would say no. For me however, there’s another aspect of value and that is to have all the power i want and be able to contain all of it to the fairing. I don’t want amps in my bags or tourpak and knowing that I can fit two 1200.4s and a 400.4 in the fairing along with a DSP makes it worth it

It certainly is. There is a thread on the other forum about winter projects/mods. Lucky 7 posted a picture of a comp bike without the rear fender. Well the rear fender will cover the 3 batteries that are mounted there. I have no use for something like that but its cool to see what guys can do. Another thing that's amazing is what the guys in the 1000 watt class can do. Pretty cool stuff

Thanks guys. My original plan was to keep everything in my fairing and not put anything in my tour pak but i have a feeling it still won’t be enough for me once i get it back. My bike is actually at Bagger boyz right now getting the bags reinforced and the entire system tuned. Thinking of adding one more amp and battery in the tour pak and adding some lids.

hdforums.com. Don't know about tap talk though. Lot of really cool guys, super knowledgable about the bike audio stuff. They have helped me a ton. Alex, Juice, Bates, Tailwind and many more. some serious stuff going on over there. I don't know if there is a speaker made that hasn't been tried over there. You will fit right in with what you got going on
